Return to Sender By Eugene Crist ________________________________________________________
Dear Alexander, I’m writing this letter to you, and I know what you’re going to say when I explain this, because I am, in fact, you, or you are me. . . whatever. I have sent you this letter because I can’t travel back myself to prevent the events that did/will necessitate this letter. As you are reading this letter, the year is 2000 and you are about to start your first week of college. It is imperative that on the first day of your math class you ask out the young lady with the long curly hair. I know you’re shy, but for my (and later your) well being, do it. I can’t promise the outcome, but I will guarantee that it will be better than anything that has happened to me/you. Her name is Jessica Cole and she is the most amazing woman that you will ever meet--Believe me, I know. It is very important that you don’t waste any time. Well, that’s about it big guy. If all goes well you won’t receive another letter from yourself, so good luck and hopefully we won’t be in touch. Here’s hoping, P.S. The black haired girl that you’ll notice first, when you’re waiting for the professor, isn’t worth your time. She has a boyfriend and a big mouth. |
