P.S. Two announcements: First, the debut issue of Atomjack, also published by Susurrus Press, is now online. Second, there is a new Susurrus Press forum, run by Atomjack's editor, Adicus Ryan Garton. Discuss... whatever you want. Including Atomjack and Susurrus. Leave comments, complaints, suggestions, thoughts, insights, theories, nonsensical ramblings, rants, or... whatever. You know, forum stuff.

Sincerely,

It's Susurrus's birthday. Bring your own cake and birthday hats. We've been doing this for a year now, officially. So this is going to be a special issue, kicking off the big step into e-Volume Two. We're now going to feature reviews, interviews, and the occasional article, all focusing on small press fiction, art and/or madness. We're also going to have a feature contributor and artist.

The new content is going to be under the new LeftBrain section of the magazine, written primarily by our assistant editor, James Christopher Maddox. We're kicking it off with an interview with Ralan from Ralan.com, AKA Ralan Conley's Webstravaganza. If you're a writer, you probably use his site any time you want a new place to submit a story. If you're not a writer, come and see what The Writer's Market wishes it could be. We also have a review of Carlton Mellick's novel The Menstruating Mall, a review of the SF webzine Ultraverse, and a look at this issue's feature artist Margot Quan Knight.

And that doesn't mean we're skimping on the fiction, either. In fact, with five great stories, it's one of the biggest fiction sections we've ever had. Karl El-Koura lets you know that there is a secret that everyone knows but you in The Human Skins. Assisted suicide is taken to a whole new level by Philip A. Stevenson in Just Dropped By. The philosphical side of sodomy is explored in A with Index Finger Inserted in B’s Anus by James Swingle (Trust us on this one.) So Jesus Christ walks onto a subway... in the story Subway Break by Vera Searles. And a woman has an action filled encounter with wolves in the suburbs in Wolves at the Doors by Jeremy Schneider.

So here's the new and improved Susurrus. Let us know what you think, by dropping us a line or posting on the new forum. Happy Birthday to us. I am fine. How are you?

      Dear Reader,                                                                                                                        Rev. Brian Worley
